One of our most popular soft cheeses, this Farmhouse Brie made by artisan cheesemarkers Evansdale from Waikouiti (45 mins north of Dunedin in New Zealand's South Island) has a fresh valley mushroom flavour. Unlike supermarket versions of brie, this cheese is packed with flavour which has been achieved over more than 30 years of refinement by Evansdale cheesemakers the Dennison family. A great cheese for any cheese board, the Farmhouse Brie is liked almost ubiquitously and always disappears first.
Ideal for pairing with a fruity paste or condiment on baguette, oat cakes or crackers, or simply enjoyed by itself.
We recommend a wine match of a light white (chardonnay, dry riesling, viognier, albarino) or red wine (Martinborough Pinot Noir) so as not to mask the flavour of the brie.
