A distinct herb flavour set in a creamy medium Dutch style gouda. The green nettle flecks throughout the cheese creates a visually interesting addition to any cheese platter. Easily enjoyed by itself or slice thinly and melt with two slices of sourdough or ciabatta to create a decadent cheese toastie or croque monsieur.
Made by Mercer Cheese (1 hour south of Auckland in New Zealand's North Island) by master cheese maker Albert Alferink. Mercer Cheese has been producing award winning small batch artisanal cheese from their small farm at Tuakau for over 20 years.
Ideal for pairing with a fruity paste, condiment or cured meat on baguette, oat cakes or crackers, or simply enjoyed by itself.
We recommend a wine match of a robust white (sauvignon blanc, pinot gris, viognier, albarino) or stronger red wine (merlot, malbec, or peppery shiraz)
